The short answer
What this treatment is
Whether you are cisgender or transgender, the clinic offers a range of treatments aimed at sculpting the face to soften or strengthen specific features. The methods used to feminise or masculinise a face are the same MHRA-licensed anti-wrinkle injections and HA dermal fillers used elsewhere in the practice — but the planning, dosing, and combination of treatments is led entirely by your goals. The aim is helping you to identify more closely with the person you see in the mirror. With the support of Prollenium UK, transgender patients can access reduced rates on specific treatments — please ask at consultation.

Patient journey
What to expect
Consultation & preparation
Avoid ibuprofen, aspirin, vitamin E, fish oil, and alcohol for 24 to 48 hours before treatment. Bring reference photos if helpful — both inspiration and pictures of yourself you feel match where you are headed. If you are on HRT or any chronic medication, bring a list to the consultation.
During treatment
Aftercare
Aftercare follows the specific treatment used: see the anti-wrinkle and dermal-filler service pages for area-specific instructions. The 2-week review is particularly important on first gender-affirming treatment because adjusting dose or product placement is often part of dialling-in a personal aesthetic.
Choose your direction
Feminising
Subtle product placements that, individually, are unremarkable but collectively shift facial proportions toward typically feminine norms.
Masculinising
The same toolkit deployed in the opposite direction — sharper lines, stronger structure, more linear features.
Transparent, all-in pricing
Written and medically reviewed by Dr Oli Curwen , Aesthetic Doctor — MBBS BSc MRCS · MHRA — all underlying products are licensed prescription medicines or CE-marked devices; GMC Good Medical Practice governs the planning and consent process.
FAQ
Common
questions
Do I have to be transgender to access this treatment?
No. Gender-affirming aesthetic treatment is open to anyone whose goals point that way — cisgender or transgender. Many cisgender patients want a more masculine or feminine facial proportion than they currently have; this is exactly what these techniques deliver. The Prollenium UK reduced-rate partnership is specifically for transgender patients accessing certain treatments and is applied at consultation.
How is gender-affirming treatment different from standard aesthetic treatment?
The products are the same — MHRA-licensed anti-wrinkle injections and HA fillers. What differs is the planning lens: the goal is shifting facial proportions toward a particular gendered norm, rather than simply softening lines or restoring lost volume. This often means specific anatomical targets (lateral brow, gonial angle, chin midline) and specific product choices that would not be the obvious selection for a non-gender-affirming case.
How quickly will I see change?
Muscle-relaxing changes (chemical brow lift, masseter slimming, brow straightening) develop over 5 to 14 days. Filler-based changes (cheeks, lips, jawline, chin, nose) are immediate, with initial swelling that settles over 7 to 14 days. Most patients see staged treatment over 2 to 4 sessions across 3 to 6 months, with each session building on the last. Photography at every session documents the journey.
Is HRT relevant to aesthetic treatment timing?
Sometimes. HRT (oestrogen or testosterone) drives some facial change on its own — softening or sharpening features over months and years. For some transgender patients it makes sense to start with the muscle-relaxing injection work that is fully reversible (and re-evaluable every 3 to 4 months), then layer filler-based structural change once HRT effects have settled. Dr Oli will discuss timing as part of the planning consultation.
What about safety?
The same safety standards apply across every patient. Hyaluronidase is stocked on-site for immediate filler reversal. Dr Oli is an Aesthetics Complications Experts Group member, trained in vascular complication recognition and management. Surgical anatomy training (MRCS, Royal College of Surgeons of England) is particularly relevant for the higher-risk sites (NSR, jawline, tear trough) commonly used in gender-affirming planning.
Can I bring a partner or friend?
Yes — many patients bring a partner or friend to the planning consultation, because gender-affirming treatment is a personal change and a second perspective helps. The clinic environment at UNTIL Marylebone is private and judgement-free, and everyone present signs a confidentiality acknowledgement before the session begins. Bringing someone for the treatment appointment itself is also welcome.
