The short answer
What this treatment is
The Alma Harmony XL Pro is a multi-application laser platform that combines several treatment modules in one device. Different conditions need different wavelengths and pulse durations, and Harmony lets a clinician select the right tool for the right concern in a single appointment. Dr Oli uses Harmony for non-ablative skin tightening (ClearLift Pro), acne and acne-scar resurfacing (ClearSkin Pro), targeted treatment of spider veins and cherry angiomas (VascuPen), and broad pigmentation/vascular work (Iris Dye-VL narrowband IPL). Each module has its own indications, downtime profile, and protocol; consultation is essential to choose what fits your skin and goals. Laser treatments are delivered from UNTIL Soho (111 Charing Cross Road, WC2H 0DT) rather than the primary Marylebone clinic.

Patient journey
What to expect
Consultation & preparation
Avoid sun exposure and self-tanning for 4 weeks before any laser session — sunburnt or tanned skin is at higher risk of pigmentation change. Discontinue topical retinoids for 5 days before; discontinue topical hydroquinone for 2 weeks before unless your prescribing clinician advises otherwise. If you have a history of cold sores, antiviral prophylaxis may be prescribed for peri-oral treatments.
During treatment
Aftercare
Apply broad-spectrum SPF 50 daily — UV exposure on freshly treated skin causes pigmentation. Avoid hot showers, saunas, and intense exercise for 24 to 48 hours after non-ablative laser; longer for VascuPen-treated areas. Do not pick at any small crusts — they shed naturally over 5 to 10 days. Resume topical retinoids and active skincare after 5 to 7 days unless otherwise advised.

FAQ
Common
questions
Which laser module is right for me?
It depends on your concern. Skin tightening and overall rejuvenation: ClearLift Pro. Active acne or acne scars: ClearSkin Pro. Spider veins, broken capillaries, or cherry angiomas: VascuPen. Sun damage, age spots, rosacea redness, or melasma where carefully selected: Iris Dye-VL narrowband IPL. The £50 paid consultation includes skin assessment, module selection, and a written plan; the fee is redeemable against subsequent treatment.
Are these lasers safe for darker skin?
Most modules are. ClearLift Pro (Q-switched Nd:YAG, 1064nm) is the safest for Fitzpatrick IV–VI; ClearSkin Pro (1540nm) is also relatively safe with reduced fluence. VascuPen needs careful patient selection in darker skin. Iris Dye-VL IPL is generally avoided in Fitzpatrick V–VI due to post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation risk. Dr Oli advises specifically at consultation.
Is there downtime?
ClearLift Pro: none — designed as a "lunchtime" treatment. ClearSkin Pro: 24 to 48 hours of redness, like sunburn. VascuPen: small crust at each treated vessel for 5 to 7 days. Iris Dye-VL: pigmented lesions darken and shed over 7 to 10 days; redness lasts a few hours. None of these are aggressive ablative resurfacing — they are deliberately chosen non-ablative or selectively ablative modules to minimise patient downtime.
How many sessions will I need?
For most indications, a course of 3 to 6 sessions spaced 2 to 4 weeks apart, then maintenance every 6 to 12 months. ClearLift Pro and ClearSkin Pro: typically 4 to 6 sessions. VascuPen: most lesions clear in 1 to 2 sessions. Iris Dye-VL: 3 to 5 sessions for pigmentation. The written plan at consultation gives session count and total cost upfront.
Can I combine laser with injectables?
Yes — the Bio-Boost protocol does exactly this. Polynucleotides or Profhilo on the same day as a laser session augments the regenerative response. HA filler should be spaced 2 weeks either side of laser to avoid heat-induced product migration. Anti-wrinkle injections can be done on the same day as ClearLift Pro or VascuPen with no issue.
Where are laser treatments delivered?
From UNTIL Soho at 111 Charing Cross Road, London WC2H 0DT — a 5-minute walk from Tottenham Court Road or Leicester Square underground stations. The Alma Harmony platform is housed at this site rather than the primary Marylebone clinic; consultations and consent are conducted at whichever site suits your schedule, and the actual treatment session is at Soho.
